Its a small sweet shop, located near Christ Church, tucked away in a side alley while established in the 1844 (178 years old) and has achieved a legendary status and practically has become a part of city’s heritage. They have sheer variety of different Sandesh which is their specialty. Its a must visit for all true foodies with a sweet tooth.

Started in 1844 by Girish Chandra Dey, this age old sweet shop offers the best Sandesh in the city. From Nolen Gur Sandesh to Chocolate sandesh, they’ve got it all. Strawberry, Kiwi, Blueberry, Butterscotch.. so many options to choose from! I honestly love the fact that they’re very consistent with their quality and keep coming up with new flavours. You’ve got to try their winter specials like kanchagolla, monohara, gurer jalbhara and dark chocolate! Trust me, you won’t get such amazing flavours anywhere in the world!

Must try- Kara paak, Jolbhora, Chandrapuli, Chocolate Sandesh, Kachagolla, Dark Chocolate Sandesh, Monohara, Amrito, Sachin, Gur makha Sandesh, Strawberry Sandesh, Kiwi Sandesh, Butterscotch Sandesh and Gurer Malai Roll.

•Timings- 7am to 10.30pm (best to go before 6pm as everything gets sold out quickly)

One of the most oldest and the best sweet shop selling " only sandesh" sweets.
The place gives the best quality of sweets, KOLKATA is known for.
Now the price is a bit pricy as compared to local sweet shops but the quality is something you would not even find in 5 star restaurants around the city.
The legacy is kept well.
