Samba son of Lord Krishna got cursed by his father and became prey of lepracy. Samba came here and worshipped Lord Surya who gave him boon and removed his lepracy skin decease. There is a huge pond which is described as Samba Kunda. One has to bath in this pond and then worship Sambaditya.

Samba is one of the sons of lord Krishna. Puranas states bad deeds of Samba ,which resulted in severe skin disease. Samba did penance of lord Sun -Aditya in this particular place. So the name is Samba Aditya. The place is in remote streets of Varanasi. Difficult to reach by four wheelers. The Samba aditya temple can be confirmed with an idle of Krishna and his son on his lap at the main entrance of the temple.Sun idle contains 7 horse idle representing 7 ashwa ratha of Aditya.
