After a long time I got a palatable food in Chennai and the behavior of that particular anonymous person was awesome. One must try their special dish (brahmaputra special thali) price Rs. 390 but they offer you a variety in that particular package.

A best restaurant in Greams road area for those who come to Apollo Chennai for treatment. Very clean and the staff here are very decent. Fully air-conditioned.

I will say this is the best hotel serving bengali food in greams road. Saw this restaurant while visiting a patient and bookmarked it to try later. Its almost full all days as it caters the people who come from Northeast and Kolkata for treatment. I went on a saturday night , wanted to order the Brahmaputra Non Veg special thali for 399 which had chicken mutton and fish . But mutton got over. So ordered one Chicken thali , 1 rice and Boal Fish . Chicken thali was ok nothing exceptional . Fish was fresh and the dish tasted good. What took me by suprise was the size of the fish. Boal fish is a river fish which is not available easily in the market. The piece that was given was a huge piece indicating that they got their hands on a big fish . At 180 rs for the dish it was a steal.
I saw some interesting dish too in the menu- chicken & mutton pulao and khichdi. I would like to return back to try that.
Restaurant is nothing fancy, service is ok and I wudnt say that this is a go to place for the bengali and assamese residents in Chennai . But yes for a above average food experi nce you can definately try this place.
Ps - Be ready to wait for seats to be available . The restaurants provide chairs for its customer to wait outside.
Car parking can be an issue .
