Elmore Railway station as is well known is one of the oldest stations in Chennai along with of course Chennai Central. It has still those unique remnants of vintage architecture that give the station its unique look. The only downside and this is not unique to Egmore station alone is its issues with cleanliness. With the volume of crowd that it caters to, it is a herculean task no doubt.

I recently had the opportunity to visit Chennai Egmore railway station for the first time, and I must say that I was pleasantly surprised by my experience. As an old station, I was expecting it to be a bit run-down, but I was pleasantly surprised to find it to be clean and well-maintained.

The station is quite large and sprawling, with several platforms and tracks. I found it easy to navigate, even though I was unfamiliar with the layout. The staff were helpful and friendly, and they provided clear instructions on how to purchase tickets and board trains.

Overall, I had a positive experience at Chennai Egmore railway station, and I would recommend it to others who are planning to travel by train in the area.

Holds at the heart of Chennai city and has a good connection with the city outskirts and within the city. Following are the major highlights :-
• Maintains a proper channel for the connectivity of the city within and to the rest of the country.
