Its a bit congested and feels like being in a factory warehouse.
Long distance trains to South starts from here. Local Suburban EMU trains also stop here in Platform 10 (towards Tambaram) & 11 (towards Chennai Beach & Central). Veg Restaurants are available opposite to the station entrance in Gandhi Irwin Road. Egmore Metro (Green Line) near the EVR Road side. Suburban Ticket Booking Counter in a building at end of Platform 11.

This Railway station is well maintained, and very near and walkable distance from the MGR Railway station as well.
The station is well constructed and well designed,
As well as the overall architecture in the Tamil nadu is awesome.
The station is well neat and clean.
The main part is it has dedicated waiting hall in the railway station which we'll maintained it is very clean
