West Bengal is a very interesting place to visit. I have been here many times over the years. People are very helpful and will give you the time of day to talk. There is never a dull moment in Kolkata. Howrah Station has changed so much compared to when I first was there, with its steam and disel trains that I love. Now there are more modern train running. Next to the station is The Train Museum.

While I visited office for booking of rooms The dealing executive Mr Tamal Naskar, was extremely co-operative and helpful .
Unfortunately, before visiting the Tourism Centre, l tried to book the rooms, on-line, when, after making the payment, the system, declined to allot the rooms, on the plea, that the rooms selected are not available, and the sum deposited will be refunded. But, when l visited the office, l got confirmed reservation for the rooms selected.
