As a Theatre lover, visited this space several times to watch a play. Love its antique architecture along with the modernity inside the auditorium. Although the seating capacity and the stage size is little less than some of the bigger auditorium in city, however, the ambience is amazing. You get the feel of 19th century Bengali Theatre era. Also the staffs are quite helpful.

One of oldest theater hall in Kolkata built in 1893. The legendary actor & writer Girish Chandra Ghosh has acted here. Many famous plays were performed here by the great and famous actors. The hall was renovated and newly opened in the year 2008 after taking over by the state govt. Nowadays during film festival many movies are screened here. The legacy it carried gives a nostalgic feelings.

I have gone there for first time but l like the theatre....the sound system in the theatre room is awesome...the architecture inside the hall prove that how older it is...
