Rewa Ghat was built initially by Lala Mishir royal priest of Maharaja Ranjit Singh of Punjab. Hence earlier it was known as Lala Mishir Ghat. In 1789, King of Rewa bought Lala Mishir Ghat and re-fortified it and renamed it Rewa Ghat. Ghat was donated to Benares Hindu University in the 20th century.

Ghat stairs are designed in 'Ashta Pahal' style of architecture protecting from strong currents of river Ganga.

This lovely ghat is close to Assi but is never busy. The ghat has concrete steps with Ashta Pahal-inspired construction that shield it from the Ganga River's powerful currents.View is amazing.

Rewa Ghat is a portion of Assi Ghat in Varanasi. ‘Rewa Ghat’ was built by Lala Misir - Priest of the king of Punjab, Ranjeet Singh.The King of Riwan in 1879 bought this ghat so it came to be known after him, who later on donated this ghat to Banaras Hindu University. Painting was done at morning capturing the beauty of this ghat.
