A hidden gem in Varanasi. An exquisitely carved temple located in the heart of the city, just about 50m from Godowilia Chow. A kind of an oasis in the chaos around.
Surprisingly, though located in the heart of Varanasi, it was a tough task reaching there. Even rickshawallas had not heard about this temple. Ultimately one small shopkeeper guided us.

The 200 hundred years old property, which was built by the Kashi Naresh, served as a private temple for the royal family. The extensively carved gate of the complex is a clear example of the architectural mastery of that time. At the first glance, it looks like an old house but once you enter the vicinity you will realize that it is much more than that.

The Kashi Raj Kali temple is located on the busy Bansphatak road near Godowlia chowk. It is probably the most easily accessible and yet the toughest to be located place in Varanasi. Most of the people who have been to this place have had no idea about it as they just entered it out of curiosity. Those who have been here, described this place as an oasis of peace in the heart of chaos.

I have never seen a video, picture or anyone talking about this temple at all. I got to see temple by accident when I was visiting the neighbouring restaurant.

Must visit this temple. This is probably the only temple near KASHI VISHWANATH and Ganga Ghat that has so much peace and no croup at all.

This is exactly what we call a hidden temple.
