This gate was constructed by the last nawab of Lucknow Wazil Ali Shah and at that time Rs. One Lakh was spent in the construction that's why it is called Lakhi Gate. This gate is situated just opposite to Baradari in Kaiserbagh.

This is eastern gate of one of the two lakhi gates constructed by Nawab Wajid Ali Shah, last nawab of Awadh. they are called lakhi gates because their cost was rs one lakhs at the time of construction in 1947-1950. The gate is opposite to safed baradari and today is in dilapidated state

A beautiful gateway hidden in Lucknow with the beautiful Awadhi motifs of the fish used to decorate the inside of the main cupola. Free to visit but go early to avoid the traffic & take some good photos.
