Zafar's Mandi and Grill

I have tried chicken Mandi here. It's the best Mandi i have ever tried in India. I'm Arab and i know the original Mandi. It's authentic Mandi. Chicken Is grilled very well. The price and the quality are reasonable. You can order chicken Mandi for 250 only and that is almost enough for two persons. I recommend this restaurant for Mandi.

Was here for lunch few days back and the first thing I noticed was the spotless surrounding and the inviting ambience. The staff is very responsive and courteous. Of course being a Mandi restaurant they have the traditional floor seating as well as the regular seating options.
We started with few appetizers - Mutton Sheekh Kebab, Fish Finger, Chilli Garlic Kebab,Chicken Cheez Kebab,Saute Prawns. All the non-vegetarian appetizers were perfectly cooked with the succulence and the tenderness of the meat intact. There was a burst of flavors of the spices in every bite.
Zafar's being a restaurant focused on Grilled/Tandoor options of course nailed all the grilled appetizers however I was pleasantly surprised by the Fish Fingers as they prepared it with perfection as well from the crunchiness of the outer layer to the juicy and mouth melting fish inside, everything was on point.
My most favorites in the appetizers were- Fish Fingers, Chicken Cheese Kebab and Mutton Sheekh Kebab

Also, if you are going in a group of people, your best bet is their Indian Mix Platter for Rs 1990 only. This platter serves all the above appetizers in one platter form with great portions.

After we were done with the appetizers which half-filled my tummy as I couldn't stop myself from munching on the deliciousness, we moved on to the main course which was Zafar's special Mandi Thala. It was quite huge which can easily serve 6 people. The thala had a layer of flavoured rice at the base topped up with the pieces of Steamed Mutton, Chicken Fried and Grilled, and Fish garnished with fried onions, coriander leaves and dry fruits. The meat pieces were really tender and flavorful, my favorite being the fish out of all.

Reasons NOT to visit this place:
WORST EVER MANDI????
Ordered a Chicken Mandi.. its so bland. No taste, No Fried Onions.

IMPOLITE STAFF ????
When asked about the staleness of the Fish starter, they responded saying "Customers on other table are having the same and they didn't complain, what's the problem with you?"

And when asked about Bland Mandi..they said they have been serving the same from the start. I donno how they survived this long.

Only reason you can visit this place is the ambience. It's well designed and would become best place for Mandi if it had the taste.

PS: I recommend Cabrito-Al-Matam which is near and has the best taste.
