The Sir Thomas Munro Statue is a magnificent tribute to a great administrator and a visionary leader. The attention to detail and the level of craftsmanship that has gone into the statue is truly remarkable. It is a fitting memorial to a man who worked tirelessly to improve the lives of the people he served. The statue's location in a prominent public space also serves as a reminder of the contributions that Sir Thomas Munro made to his community and to society as a whole.

Statue of Sir Thomas Munro, who served as a governor of Madras presidency from 1820 to 1827 during the British colonial rule.
Although most of the statues of the colonial rulers were removed after independence, only the statue of Munro was retained due to his contribution to Madras through his exceptional administration and people friendly approach.
Statue is located at the beginning of Anna Salai right at the center of the road. It's well fenced and area around this statue is neatly maintained. However, the statue itself needs little maintenance.
