My experience with: Dr. R.Bharath who visits Arka Centre for hormonal health, Kauvery hospital and Cloud Nine hospital. I visited him in two of those hospitals. He was recommended to me by my gynaecologist (Dr.Rajasri of Shri Maternity Klinic) for diagnosis and treatment of gestational diabetes during pregnancy. Firstly, the doctor lacks communication skills and any kind of empathy. Does not make much eye contact. Pregnant women need a caring doctor and Dr.Bharath, no matter how qualified, treated me as just another number, giving a max of two minutes per conversation.
About his diagnosis: without properly guiding me to a nutritionist he gave me just a diet sheet and a brief explanation of diet, which did not help me control sugar levels. Soon enough, he prescribed rapid acting insulin shots, which I hesitated to start with. I felt something was amiss. Thankfully I changed both my gynaecologist and diabetician, and today, I control my sugar levels completely through diet and exercise. Diet is a very important part of sugar control - things like increasing vegetable intake, increasing protein intake etc was not mentioned by Dr.Bharath. Thankfully I changed doctors and received proper guidance for pregnancy diabetes. I still remember Dr.Bharath telling me - if not now, later I will have to take insulin! Well, it's been 3 months since I changed doctors and I still do not take insulin! My sugar levels are very much under control. I will definitely not recommend this doctor for diabetes/sugar control.
