Its a beautiful spot one can visit to get to know the history behind Sikkim. There are no entry fee and open all days to the public.
Most tourists and visitors do not even know of its existence and I think it's done deliberately by the travel agents to keep out the crowds.
You can get a view of the entire town from here. The royal monastery and the palace has a quiet charm and simplicity of its own and is nothing ostentatious as one would expect.
It is also a learning center for young novice monks and the Chaam or the traditional masked dances are held on religious occasions.

Located atop a hill this two storey house was the humble abode of the last reigning Chogyals( Kings) of Sikkim. Entering the palace is not allowed however there is a Royal Chappel just opposite to the palace where any visitor is allowed to visit and worship on all days. The area is very peaceful and one can enjoy a scenic view of the opposite hill from the palace premises.
