We went on a long weekend and paid quite a sum for a suite room for our family of 3. The best part was the location, just a couple of lanes away from the beach in a very nice area with old villas all around. There is street parking in front of the hotel which gets crowded during the weekend but they have a warehouse nearby where one can park easily. This is a very old villa which is turned into a hotel.
Our room was big, beds were comfortable, bathroom was of good size and everything was clean. Only issue was with the towels, they were clean but totally worn out. Our room had a small balcony overlooking the street which was nice but in the night there will be a lot of noise from the stray dogs.
The staff were polite and the service was prompt except for the breakfast: it was crowded during weekend and most items would vanish and they take a lot of time to replenish. And during the week days, we were the only guests and they took a lot of time to prepare our breakfast even though we had informed them ahead of time.
There rooftop pool is small but very nice to cool off in the afternoon.

Overall a very good place

We went as a family to Petit Palais for dinner and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The location was just perfect. Everything we ordered was scrumptious especially the pasta and butter garlic prawns. We were seated outside and the breeze was really pleasant marking the entire experience as memorable.

Definitely recommend this play for stay in Pondy. Though the stay was costly(to my standard) the rooms are very clean and has every bit of French culture. Simple and elegant photo frames everywhere in the hotel with a mix of French and India roots.

We booked couple of superior rooms. Both are very decent and we enjoyed the stay. We could have booked one of them with a balcony. Though they offered a room with balcony for an upgrade for 3K I thought we have already paid a bit of premium for the existing rooms itself so did not opt that. One must experience Pondicherry’s stay with pop out balcony. Time flies off just by sitting there overlooking the streets and travellers.

They have a rooftop restaurant with a pool — “Feast house”. This was a bit off putting. The pizza was horrible, a ready made dough you get it from typical grocery store. The view is good though. The presentation is quite ok. It has an attached pool so better for dinner rather than lunch/breakfast.

Complimentary Breakfast is severed in the same restaurant. Though the options are less the taste is good. They take order for dosa and omelet and prepare freshly. The chocolate croissants are must eats.
