THIS CENTER WAS INAUGURATED ON 2011 FEBRUARY. OFFICE WITH A RECEPTION AREA AND ROOMS, WITH PORTION OF THE BUILDING BUILT OVER THE ASTAMUDI LAKE. DTPC OR DISTRICT TOURISM PROMOTION COUNCIL IS MEANT FOR EASY ACCESS OF TOURISTS IN THE PARTICULAR AREAS OF THE DISTRICTS IN KERALA.
WALLS ARE DECORATED WITH VILLAGE SCENIC PORTRAITS AND A RECEPTIONISTS WITH INFORMATION SERVES YOU....
BROCHURES WITH TAILOR MADE PROGRAMMES IN NATIVE AND ENGLISH LANGUAGE CAN ATTRACT MORE TOURISTS TO VISIT LOCAL FESTIVALS ETC...

Please dont confuse this for the Rs. 400 boat ferry ride. Details below;

DTPC at Kollam will show you the premium packages, not the budget friendly as they deal in the family or couple packages.

For solo travellers, the adjacent Water transport department has a boat ferry that takes you from Kollam to Alappuzha at 10:30 am only for Rs. 400.

Its just a few footsteps on the left of DTPC.

The DTPC will tell you currently which tour is operating that you can club and avail. Also the staff is friendly to give you brochures and recommendations.
