Hanoi Vietnamese Cuisine

The landscape of available cuisines in the city has expanded over the last few years with the introduction of authentic European and Oriental cuisines. Hanoi is one such fine-dining restaurant here to serve us authentic Vietnamese cuisine. Vietnamese food is considered one of the healthiest cuisines in the world, but I found it bland.

My friend and I started the dining with The Nem Cuon(Vietnamese Rice Paper Rolls) and Cha la lot (Betel Leaf Wraps). The rolls are delicate rice papers wrapped with carrots,  cucumber, rice noodles, and herbs. They were bland but tasted good with the Fish Sauce and Soy sauce. The wrap was a standout dish. It was a fine chicken preparation with the meat wrapped with betel leaves and then grilled. The taste elevates when dipped in the accompanied peanut sauce.

We then had the traditional Ca Phe Trung (Vietnamese Egg Coffee), prepared with condensed milk and egg yolk. It was exquisite, and I’ll recommend you to try it.
The Tom Huong Cay (Spiced Mekong Delta Prawns) were wok-tossed in a garlic and shallot paste. It had a strong aftertaste of garlic which I didn’t like.

The last item we ate was the Bun Bo Nam Bo (Noodle Salad from South Vietnam). A sumptuous bowl full of peanuts, rice noodles, herbs and vegetables, and microgreens. Again, it was bland, and I felt like I was eating microgreens but not noodles.

I concluded from my visit here that while I’m used to the bland authentic Italian cuisine, my palate is far from accepting similar tastes from the Oriental cuisines.

The staff at Hanoi are friendly, attentive, and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure that your dining experience is a memorable one. From recommending dishes to explaining the ingredients, they're knowledgeable about the menu and eager to share their expertise with you.

Located in a busy Indranagar main area, just above Burma Burma and opposite to Rameshwaram cafe. The ambience was great and the service was super fast. Food tastes so so only.
