It's a surprisingly peaceful place in the middle of the town. It's an old monastery. Small in comparison to all others but equally good.
One can just sit on the upper chamber and spend some time meditating.

The Tibetan monastery is one of the major tourist spot in Manali. Tibetan Monastery is one of the oldest and famous place in Manali. The main attraction of the monastery is the handicrafts of Tibetan artistry and the carpets that are woven and sold in the monastery. The Gadhan Thekchoking Gompa in Manali was constructed in the year 1969. The architecture of the monastery represents the Tibetan style of architecture designed with hued frescoes. The statue of the Lord Buddha presides in the monastery. The Tibetan monasteries at Manali are one of the main Manali tourist attraction and features chiefly as an important pilgrim itinerary on a tour of Manali.
The paintings inside depict events from Lord Buddha's life. The Kalchakra ,the wheel of life painted on the wall of the monastery shows the circle of life. The Buddhists believe that rotating it gives you salvation.

Good Maintenance easily accessible from the main Mall or Bus Stand . The visit to this monastery can be planned after visiting all other places & confortably combined with the visit to Vann Vihar Park. with Children. Meditation at the temple in the monastery gives peace of mind & imbibes culture & Fraternity
