Lovely ferry ride you get. It takes 10-15mins to cross over one side, visit the Hanuman temple and back again with the ferry ride. Scenic views all around. Waiting for the ferry to move takes atleast 30 minutes to move as they wait for people to load and then move to the other side. Had a nice darshan, little pull and push you will have to manage here and there. Great views around the temple premises also. Street vendors all along as you climb up the stairs to the temple. You get to buy coconut water for 50/-, chat like jalmuri, papdi chat etc., fruit bowl and cucumber. Climbing the stairs in the humid and hot climate can be tedious and tiring. Do carry water and tissues. Don’t litter though. Pandits give full attention to you while giving offerings and expect money after darshan. Gives a different experience altogether for sightseeing in Guwahati.

Umananda Island or peacock Island is the smallest river island in the midst of river Brahmaputra flowing through the city of Guwahati in Assam, a state in northeast India. The British named the island Peacock Island for its shape. It is a very nice tourist spot and very holy place for Hindus
