Located on an elevated land, like a little hill top...this is an old mandir of about 25 years or more so. It was a very beautiful place with 6-7 big banyan trees along with some others. Cool breeze was common. This mandir and its land was maintained by the local women group keeping it an attraction to social meetings and functions during those years. Now a new stage land and a community center/office has been build that serves as a multipurpose facility. Now this land is little dull because of cutting the big trees recently.... for mandir construction as was stated by the committee.
This Durga puja was the only place surrounding approx 3 sq.km. till very recently, as was an outskirts area of the city. Many wild animals and birds were available here in the past. Since 2010 perhaps, very year this place also hosts lakshmi puja and dipawali. This place will remain a significant identity as well as memory for those residing in Panjabari area since 1988-90s..
Bihu is also celebrated here every year with pomp and joy. Recently television broadcast/recordings have been seen during programs. Much more history and experience is actually to be searched about this place.
