Nice temple, some construction going on, there is a flowing stream behind the temple called Basistha Ganga.

It is said that this is where Basistha did Tapas to achieve moksha from Mahadev.

Lots of Monkeys around too.

Basistha Madir is a Hindu Temple which has a beautiful natural view. The history says Rishi Basistha was on deep meditation in this place for a long year. He built an Ashram here. After his name the temple naed as Basistha Temple and the place nearby the temple is known as Basistha Ashram. You can find the history of Sandya, Lalita and Kanta, three small streams divided by three rocks. It gives a spectaculous view to the beautiful environment. They are small streams of Basistha Bahini river. Visit and enjoy the environment. It will give you fresh air and refreshing mood.
It is a tourist place, but tourists visit here rarely. The govt. should take a good initiative step for developing this tourist place. Day by day the place is occupied by some people for building their own house. They also blocked the stream of the river which is the horrible threaten to the beautiful environment of the Basisthashram.

Its an ancient mandir.this ancient temple is located in South side of Guwahati. Bseside the temple a small but Beautiful water stram which attracts the visiter.Beautiful setting nestled in hills. Place required to make more attractive and properly arrange the old temple. A Shiva temple in the premises attracts the devotees. Place is not very clean and developed. An ancient Siva temple is in premises.
