Kasturi always is my first choice when it comes to Bengali Cuisine. Recently I visited their Nagerbazar outlet which is located near Diamond Plaza and my experience was quite nice.
We ordered Fish Fries, Steamed Rice, Kochupata chingri, Pomfret Bhuna, Boal Kalia, Daab Chingri, Mutton Kosha, Morog Pulao and Misti Doi.
Their Fish Fry is just amazing with a thin coating and a thick fillet of Bhetki, tasted amazing with kasundi. This item is highly Recommended. Their Kochupata chingri needs no introduction as it was perfect like always. We ordered Pomfret Bhuna but they served something with a gravy and the gravy of Pomfret and Boal was exactly same which was little disappointing. The Morog Pulao tasted really good and the best part is they serve it with some Egg Korma. I didn't like the Daab Chingri here it was below avarage. The Mutton Kosha was great it taste even the misti doi was very delicious.
Last but not least their service, which was very poor. The service was super slow, I'm sure they will improve this thing very soon.

I've never been to Kasturi before, because I belive big brands serving authentic food is just a marketing gimmick and they never focus on quality of food. They just want to take as much money as possible from your pocket in the name of authentic cuisine.
When I visited for the first time, I found I was absolutely right. The ambiance wasn't really good, but they did serve food on Kolapata and Kashar Plate.
Bengali Fish Fry @ Rs.145 (3/5)
-----------------------------------
Size of the Fish Fry was small but it was fat. Fillet were really good, fish felt fresh. It tasted okay but I've tried much better fish fry before. Kasundi was quite rich in taste, seemed like home made not the bootled once.
Dhakai Dum Pulao @ Rs.155 (1/5)
----------------------------------------
They call it Dhakai Dum Pulao with Golden Fried Onions, uff so sophisticated name just to make you fool. I call it Laung Rice. In every bite I found 7-8 cloves and 2-3 whole black peppers that made the rice almost inedible. The chef really needs to learn how to cook rice. I've tried Dhakai Pulao before and it was the worst of all.
Chicken Dal Bunglow @ Rs.240 (1/5)
---------------------------------------------
For Rs.240 + tax only 3 pieces of chicken that were also undercooked. Chicken didn't took the flavour of gravy seemed like steam chicken put later on. Moreover it tasted just like Chicken kasha and let me tell you there are far better chicken kasha you can expect at any pice hotel.
Although I don't know much about Dhakai cuisine still I can say they perfectly ruined this Dhakai delicacy. Can't believe it's their speciality. If their speciality taste like this, I can't even imagine their other dishes.
Conclusion
-----------------
Unfortunately it was my birthday and I let them ruin it. Just go to any good Pice hotel if you really want to have Authentic Bengali dishes. They'll charge you way less and you'll actually be enjoying true taste. Kasturi is just fooling people and making money, nothing else.

Nice place. Every time I like to order coffee blend(brownie/oreo). Quantity of Spaghetti or pasta is enough for two people if you are having some appetizer with a drink.
