Vedi Ghar is the main place of Yogodyan Math where Sri Ramakrishna sat with his disciples (Mahatma Ramchandra Dutta and other disciples) and gave his heavenly thoughts about this place (Yogodyan). Sri Ramakrishna said to Ramchandra that this place is perfect for spiritual exercise and meditation, he also said to Ramchandra Dutta to situate a Panchavati garden in Yogodyan for doing Yoga.

In 1883, at this place, Sri Ramakrishna sat with the devotees and called it 'Thakur Ghar (God's Place)' and he asked for this place to be named as "Yogadyan (Yoga Garden)".
