Created on the theme of Books and Knowledge, this pandal is beautifully done and shows a great level of creativity. To reach this place, you should enter Bangur Avenue and approach Jessor Road and then take a right. Parking can be a big challenge and hence suggested to use Auto rickshaw or hand rickshaw. My Insatiable Hunger takes me to all places, big and small. The search for not the best, but good food, seems to never end.

This search (for more) brought me to The London Shakes, a small, quaint little outlet in Bangur Avenue, Kolkata. This outlet is the first shop that can be seen on the right when entered from the VIP Road side of Bangur and is very close to the bustling chaat street.

Being a small shop doesn’t stop it from having an expansive menu. It has everything that a medium sized cafe has to offer. With no seating space, it still manages to have so many things on its roster.

To start with, since the name is London Shakes, there are a galore of shakes to choose from. Right from Thick Shakes to milk shakes to Mojitos to Ice Tea, they have covered an insane number of items. It is a tough task to select any one from all these goodies. The highlight of this outlet is the London Beer. Don’t be fooled by the word “Beer”, as this is a Non-alcoholic drink and tastes very similar to its alcoholic counterpart. I have tried a lot of concoctions here and the taste is at par with the biggies like Keventers and Rallis. Oh yeah, they have freak-shakes too. Some shakes are very fruity and some are over-loaded with Chocolate. Plus, you can have Lassi as well as Ice Cream Sodas too. Overall, there is too much to choose from and you have to make multiple visits to taste them all.

Coming to the food, the menu consists itsy-bitsy stuffs like Pasta, Sandwiches, Maggi, Garlic Bread, Nachos, French Fries and much more. A pure fusion menu I must say. Infusing Indian masalas into Italian cuisine is a trend now and they have done perfectly well with it. The flavors are stupendous and has the right mix.

They have Subs as well, just like we have in our fav Subway, with the same taste. Again, a lot of Indian Tandoori items are infused here in making the subs, aligning them with the Indian palate. The Nachos are extremely crispy and loaded with your choicest toppings. Another unique item that I found here was the Pizza Bites. Very much similar to Nachos, but made of whole grains and much thicker and crispier, are served with a number of toppings, loaded with cheese.

The fusion food; mixture of India and the how the World eats, is indeed well done here. I have been visiting this place for quiet a while now and have laid my hands on a number of items, both liquidy and solid, I must say, its fantastic to be here every single time. Highly recommended.

Enjoyed outstanding evening snacks at this quaint shakes joint at #Bangur - they serve quality food at an affordable price range..

#KesariyaMilk loaded with Kesar and almonds was a perfect drink to beat the winter chill..

#TandooriMaggi was an unique preparation of Maggi using the same masala that's used for making tandoori chicken.. Spicy and damn tasty as well..

#CrispyFriedCorn was delicious bcz of the shallow frying of the golden American corns which led to a crispy coating on the same..

They also serve an unique drink known as #FruitBubblePearls whereby flavoured juice filled bubbles travel via the straw and bursts with an array of flavours inside your tastebuds.. Loved this concept to the core..

A takeaway counter primarily - try it out - you won't regret..
