Though this old and popular shop proudly wears the distinction of serving Amitabh Bachchan (during shooting of 'Piku'), I found its hing kachoris pretty ordinary. No aroma of hing and flat in taste.
What made the difference was the serving- kachori and a runny potato curry served with pickled chillies and a tangy & sweet, thin tamarind chutney. The former spiced up the taste of kachori and curry when taken together and the latter worked as a good palate cleanser between bites.
One plate of four kachoris costs Rs 40. I asked for a half plate (two for Rs 20).

Though they r famous for kochuri , but I love their kalakand sondesh very much. Great one to choose for little snacks ideas near new market area

The kachori is okay ish. Didn't like the potato curry. Visit hear for heritage and Amitabh Bachchan's name not for lip smacking food.
