Really aesthetic place, very well curated. Capturing all the main aspects of the city of Kolkata, It's history, culture and heritage. The place is beautiful but the maintenance is not.
We visited early in the morning and few of the video exhibits were not working. There is no AC, so it was very hot, only a handful of stand fans at a few places which were also off at that time. Other than this I'll give it a 5 star.

Snuggled amidst the historic buildings of Strand Road, Metcalfe Hall stands out in architecture and beauty. Previously the library of Lord Metcalfe, the Governor General of India, Metcalfe hall has now been transformed into a museum. To every soul out there wrapped in the nostalgia of the city, this museum is a must visit.
Adorned with the tangible and intangible elements of the culture of Bengal, Metcalfe hall makes a very aesthetic place. I usually refrain from calling historic places "Instagrammable", but i admit that the pictures of this place can definitely amp up your social media. But more than that, it is an important landmark in the history of the city, and it's really commendable that the building is being used to endorse and educate more people about the Bengali culture.
However, better maintenance would really suit the place better. It will get very hot and humid inside if you decide to pay a visit during the summers. There are very few fans, but otherwise it's really hot. So it might get uncomfortable. But your experience here will be memorable and priceless for sure.
