At Ballygunj Place of Kolkata just behind the Birla Temple, GD BIRLA Sabhaghar is a great auditorium. Situated at basement this auditorium has a good capacity of audience. The huge stage and luxurious chairs are the pride of the hall. At the entrance the statue of Birlas are kept. The full air conditioning system with neat and clean toilets, it may be used in any occasion.
Recently I was present there. The famous personalities like Shirshendu Mukhopadhyay, Sanjeeb Chottopadhay, Biman Basu, Ranjit Mallick, Prasenjit and others delivered their valuable speech in memory of Late Samaresh Majumdar, the great writer.

One of the best mid-size auditorium. But very strong security restriction. They don't even slow to take your unpretentious water bottle inside the hall!

Visited this place to attend Chandrabindu solo performance, but that turned out to be not a solo. A few guest singers e.g. Somlata, Prashmita also performed. The crowd management was quite good. Although they don't allow water bottles inside the hall. It's their business strategy to sell packaged mineral water, and some snacks, it seems.
