Very beautiful serene temple which has a extraordinary calming effect. A must visit.
The river just behind the temple looks wonderful and clear.
P.S.- Keep you mobile phones in your bag or else you will be asked to get rid of it before entering the temple (during the security check).

It's crowded during the weekends, early morning, weekday will be better for visiting.
Truly magnificent.
Swami Ramakrishna spent 16 years in one of the building. The miracle of this temple is also mentioned in Autobiography of the yogi.

The Dakshineswar temple was built by Lokmata Rani Rashmoni for Goddess Bhabataarini and has been immortalised by the divine presence of Sri Sri Thakur Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Sri Sri Ma Sarada. Located beside the majestic Bhagirathi river, this temple also has a Radha Krishna Mandir, ten Shiva temples, a huge Naat mandir and the room where Sri Sri Thakur stayed. It also has a room where Sister Nivedita first met Sri Sri Sarada Ma.
The mandir complex is exquisitely maintained, with proper security, sanitation and discipline. The sebaiyats or priests are extremely affable and kind. There is a large water-body beside the temple. Two separate parking lots are present, along with elaborate security structures, and a unique storage locker facility for keeping valuables belonging to devotees, which are to be submitted during the time of visit, and returned after the visit, as also a shoe storage facility. There are separate shop- complexes where one may buy Puja requirements such as sweets and offerings for the deities, as well as collectibles such as photos, calenders, images , shiva-lingas , Puja utensils etc. Outside the mandir, there is a beautiful garden known as Panch vati ( lit. five gardens) which is said to be frequented by Sri Sri Thakur, his disciples, devotees and famous seers such as Trailangya Swami.Devotees after offering Puja can also relish Puri - sabji, dosa , tea and coffee at the restaurants ( now being made into a restaurant and hotel complex)
Devotees can use the swanky Skywalk to reach the temple complex , after alighting from the Metro, or bus, or train. The place is well-connected, and one can also visit Addya Peeth, Belur Math and nearby Bhagirathi ghats after the visit.
