Well cleaned and maintained station. A lot of street food are available on the platforms. But there is no electricity connection in the platform number 3 & 4, I have experienced. This because, a very few Trains are pass through those platforms.

Ballygunge Junction is one of the busiest stations on the Sealdah South Branch.There is an escalator system here, which is very good.Worthless station contains a lot of vendors which minimize the spaces on the platform for train passengers. Moreover, the most of the vendors are using several abusive languages in front of lady passengers also. All the seats of platform no.1 and 2 have already been covered by the vendors and therefore availability of seats for the passengers are next to the impossible. Earlier one escalator was operating for the passengers unable to use the stairs but since long it is defunct. Hopeless station and most disgusting.
