Before going for Goechela trekking of 10days in Sikkim with Relimai, I had been to Everest Base Camp in 2016. Infact I am the Goodwill Ambassador of THEM (Tenzing Hillary Everest Marathon) for India.

Our Goechella trekking started on 18th October 2021 with Suju Didi (Sujata Mukhia), the founder of Relimai, who is a trained mountaineer. She helped us, with what all we need to pack for the trekking on Zoom meeting because of which I was neither over packed nor under packed for the tough trekking like Goechela. Suju Didi actually helped me to buy the right trekking shoes, infact she only bought a pair of trekking shoes for me from Decathlon in Siliguri otherwise I was thinking that I could do the trekking in a new pair of my running shoes :)

We were ten members for this trekking. Suju Didi was always concern for each and every member. Before starting our trekking from Yuksom, Didi helped each members to pack all the necessary gears for 10days trekking. Througout the trekking, Suju didi helped us to remain in team as one family.

We had eight staff members and six hourses carrying our stuffs like tents, sleeping bags and rations. Suju didi was always supervising our three guides and kitchen staffs because of which time management during our trekking was perfect followed by the nutritious food, which is very important for trekking in high altitude. Drinking enough water is very important to avoid altitude sickness and Suju Didi was always making sure that each member was drinking enough water.

By trekking with Suju Didi, I understood the spirit of team work in a true sense. I had chest congestion after Dongri, which was the impact of cold and cough from which I was suffering one month prior to this trekking. Entire team went to the last camping site in Lamuney but Suju didi suggested me to stay back in Thaksing. Infact she stayed back with me and took care of me. It was a wise decision of Suju Didi. Next day, when I was recovered, Suju didi suggested me to take rest in Thaksing and she went all alone to the final view point. I really appreciate her courage and navigational skill to trek alone in such a high altidute trekking route.

I have seen Relimai organising trekking in Uttarkhand, Himachal Pradesh and all across Nepal. Now my aim is to go for atleast one trekking in a year and no award for guessing, with whom I will go for the trekking :).

My best wishes to Suju Didi and Relimai for all the future endeavours.

PS- I have gone for Goechela trekking with Umesh Dada, my elder brother. We rode our bikes from Pedong to Yuksom and back. Bike ride was another fun for me :)

Me and my son did a hiking trip with our Guide, Bunty. The hiking exceeded our expectations. We always wanted to hike in open areas thru the villages yet open and hilly. We had an amazing hiking of about 18 km thru ups and downs of unpaved way, meeting village folks on the way, enjoying tea and chicken soup at their home while bring told of amazing history and stories of the place. Bunty was as gracious and as knowledgeable as we could have asked for. We thank Nischal ji and Sujata ji for our memorable Kalimpong trip. Till we meet again on one of those unpaved path leading to openess leading nowhere and yet fulfilling to the core, Tapan and Argha.

Coming from New Zealand we had no idea where to start in a massive country like India with the limited time we had available, but Sujata from Relimai organised the perfect holiday for us to Bhutan, and the Golden triangle area of Delhi- Jaipur and Agra. We had great drivers and guides throughout, and stayed in top hotels everywhere and had some wonderful experiences, all for a very reasonable cost. We will definitely be back for more!
