St. Teresa Girls’ High School was established by the by the Roman Catholic Nuns for the purpose of an excellent education and is still considered to be one of the best Girl's School in Darjeeling. The school was initially started for the education of local girls. Mother M. Baptista Murphy, gathered 7 little girls on 3 October 1926, on the feast of St. Teresa of Lisieux.

The School is affiliated to the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education. St. Teresa Girls’ High School stands for educational excellence, character development, skill improvement, love of God and the selfless service of people.

The School was recognized as Primary School in the year 1939. In 1956, the school was raised to the status of High school. Sister Christine Gurung was appointed as the Principal of St Teresa School and in 1972 the school was upgraded to Higher Secondary school the after.

I just want to study in this school when I was in class 3 but unfortunately I have join LAS SCHOOL but when I was in class 6 I have join sts in 2019 it is three yrs in sts .
We all r so lucky because sts is the best school.
