The host Mrinalini or as everybody lovingly calls her - Manu Didi, is super lovely and welcoming. She went out of her way to make sure that my entire stay, and that of other fellow guests at her home, was pleasant and without the discomfort of any kind.

I originally intended to stay for a month, but it was only because of Manu and Manju auntys' kind and homely hospitality that I was compelled to stay for another whole month.

It is truly laudable how they have both built not only a successful entrepreneurial venture without any formal "training" in the hospitality industry but also built a sense of community which most of the other places lack. Most certainly two of the most hardworking ladies I have ever met!

They made my first ever "workation" far more delightful than I thought it could be. Now, a bit about the house...

About the property:

It is dwelled super peaceful area of Rishikesh (Swargashram) where on one side is the Ram Jhula area just about 500 meters away, while on the other side are the foothills that are best for a nice, quiet stroll during any time of the day.

The location of the property ensures that you do not have to travel long - whether on foot or a vehicle - to buy supplies and essentials. Grocery, Restaurants, cafes, etc. are just a stone's throw away.

So if you're here for a workation, you can easily take your laptop and head on over to a nearby eatery for tea, coffee, or a quick bite. Although, my favorite spot is the terrace! It has 180 degrees view of the mountain on one side, and a stunning view of the Sunset on the other side.

Food and household facilities:
Cleaning and maintenance at the property are all part of the stay here and taken care of by the household staff. Besides that, it has fully automatic washing machine, fully functional kitchen, livingroom, and a huge Yoga hall. You can even include the food as a part of your package at a super affordable cost.

The food is prepared in-house by Manju aunty (the sweetest aunt I have ever met), who is an amazing cook, but more importantly, in her motherly manner also makes sure you are not behind on your meals. Roll up your sleeves and loosen your belt; you are about to hog on some authentic Punjabi food made in Desi Ghee! I have never been a fan of Ghee, but I will make an exception for Manju Aunty's food. I can write a whole article about "Aunt Manju" as I call her.

There is also a very reliable Wi-Fi at the property and during my entire stay of 2 months, there were only a couple of instances of service disruption for not more than a few minutes, which is only natural given the area and altitude. Otherwise too, Jio and Airtel 4G connections are sufficient to continue internet-based work, including video and voice calling.

Everything else:

Manu ensures a very communal and homely experience when you are staying at her house. She often mingles with her tenants and has a attitude of a friend rather than a landlady. Both are great at maintaining balance between being social, and assuring that one has plentiful privacy & personal space. That is, if you are a good resident, and respectful of the property and people you are living with. This place has no room for discrimination!

Mrina is one of the kindest and most organised hosts we could ask for. The room was shiny and new, private, great views of the mountain, hot showers, great Western style toilet and the most comfortable bed in India!!! We even had access to the yoga studio on the top floor which has spectacular views. She always made extra steps to help us and was great company she has a fab sense of humour. She helped us feel safe through the crazy pandemic madness too. Best home stay in Rishikesh HANDS DOWN.

This place is so much beautiful. I strongly believe that every place becomes good because of their owner. Mrinalini (Manu) is mind blowing owner human being. Must stay to this place and make memorable trip.
