Beautiful experience to watch this temple. It had calming effect on me especially after being in the intense energy of Manikarnika ghat. Its sad that its not globally known to people despite being tilted at 9° as compared to The leaning tower of Pisa which is leaning at 4°. I have been to both places and would any day return here to seek blessings. Har Har Mahadev!

Ratneshwar Mahadev Temple (Matri-Runa Mahadev or Leaning Temple of Varanasi) is though well preserved, still leans towards the north-west direction. Its sanctum is usually submerged in water for most of the year. The temple has a total of nine degrees of slant. The temple is constructed in classical style with Nagar Shikhar and Phamsan Mandap. Temple is built at a very low level, causing the water level to reach the lower part of the temple shikhara.

Ratneshwar Mahadev Temple is is tilted 9 Degree leans significantly towards the back side of the river. This is very close to the Manikarnika ghat and it is the unique temple at ghats in varanasi.
