The ghat and the surrounding area are thickly populated with South Indian mutts like Kerala mutt, Kanchi Sankara mutt, Sringeri mutt etc.
Typical Kasi ghat area, crowded, with narrow lanes and tourists all over.
It’s next to Harischandra ghat.
One can walk theough the lanes to other ghats which gives a flavour of that region of Varanasi.
A ghat near the harishchandra ghat ..that has larger steps..few historical.buildings but huge walls.
One actually sees many monkeys astride walls and embankment almost as though they a part of hanuman world and they personifying the god by their presence instead .
