Nice place .
This place is my best bhakti temple .
Govardhan is a key pilgrimage centre in India and a municipal town; a nagar panchayat; seat of a MLA Member of Legislative Assembly of Uttar Pradesh; a Tehsil, in Mathura district in the India in state of Uttar Pradesh. About 23 kilometres from Mathura, the town is on the road link between Mathura and Deeg. Its a popular temple, located approx 20-25 Kms from Vrindavan, dedicated to Giriraj Ji, a natural form of Lord Krishna, who lifted the Hill on his finger, to save lives of the Brijwasi's. It's built at the center point of this hill & devotees walk around this hill for 21 Kms, called Parikrama, generally taking 5 hrs, usually barefooted.
This faith of devotees is worth a praise. The symbolic small piece of mountain, approx 3 x 5 feet, is worshiped here. Sadly, cleanliness is a concern. the offering of milk, spilled all over, raises a stink as one gets inside. It is usually crowded, take care of belongings. This is not a tourist attraction but just meant for the devotees of Lord Krishna
