For orthopedic appointment people suffer staff on the counter are not ready to help the are stilling idle and just asking to call on appointment number from slip they pasted abobe the counter which was used at the time of Covid-19 still are following the same patterns. People suffer but kgmc orthopedic dept not ready to change appointment process paitent life and sufferings don't matter.

Brief History of the Department
The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery is an offshoot of the Dept of Surgery, founded in Oct, 1951. Prof BN Sinha, the founder and father of Orthopaedic Surgery in India was the first Head of the Department. From a beginning with a single bed unit in the Dept of Surgery providing, OPD services from a small room and plasters applied on the open terrace, the Department has flourished to become one of the most sophisticated state of the art & centre of excellence in management and teaching of Orthopaedics in Northern India. This was the first department in India, which started PG courses in Orthopaedics. It has many first to its credit - a comprehensive spinal cord injury unit, Arthroscopy and joint care unit for joint replacements, , internet based electronic medical records and many more.
Prof. A. N. Srivastava Annual Oration
Prof. A. N. Srivastava was a very popular and respected teacher, beacon of ethical practice and torch bearer of research and academics. His teachings on moral values, right conduct and mannerism exemplified his modesty. He was a standing role model for punctuality, discipline and patient care. As a token of appreciation and gratitude from all his family members, students and well wishers, an oration was started in his name in 2008, to be held every year on the foundation day of the Department.
There are 16 seats annually for MS in Orthopedic Surgery and 4 seates or CDCC (2 seates in Arthroplasty and 2 seates in spine surgery).
