Shankar chat is located in heart of city.. chaat here is quite good. if u are trying to avoid crowd then avoid else must visit...!!!

My experience was very good as it was first dish I tried in Kanpur.
Very Tasty and worth the hype.
Taste buds satisfied completely.

I was travelling to Kanpur , and googled this place. It is small road side cart , situated on a very busy road . Despite being on one way cars were moving from both side , so quite difficult to reach specially with a four wheeler.
Now comes to actual part. Timing on net say open from 11 . We reached at around 2.30 pm and he was still settling things. When I enquired he told me that in winter he open at 11 . In summer and rainy season he usually opens at around 2.30 pm.
We ordered papdi chat and aloo tikki . Price is reasonable .
Papadi chat was ordinary . Not suited to 4 star rating on net. It missed all zing of road side chat . Almost bland. I do believe a good curd can make anything better but that too didn't help. Aloo tikki was just ok (3.5 star).
Overall if you are not from local , it is not worth to find and reach . If you are nearby and having a desire for chat , aloo tikki can be tried .
