It's in a state of ruins and occupied by metro construction with being barricaded for public.
What shapes of this iconic place existing since 1909 as a legacy of the perfect example of British administration to facilitate the employees of the Lal Imli Mills with a full fledged satellite city kind of residential living, is totally bleak & unknown as it's evident from the condition of a similar type colony Allenganj.

I've seen this park since my childhood. Hosting white dress one day matches, football with spectators and commuters standing to watch the exciting games to the time when the park became stranded with stray animals and then the time when I started walking as an activity in the newly landscaped park decked with lighting and plants and a walled fencing till last year .. the time of extinction of this iconic badi park that has stayed since almost more than 150 years which hosted sporting activities and the Easter Dawn Service.
The park doesn't exist anymore as it's dug up by upcoming Kanpur metro which I find is an unnecessary venture as the city requires better road infrastructure with flyovers and traffic management than a metro line which is futile for a city like Kanpur having stops in less than a kilometer range and also when they're easily commutable by erickshaw and other modes.
Anyway, Badi park of MacRobert Ganj Colony is a thing of the past now.

It's a very old park. Established by the British. Earlier it was used as a sports ground for various sporting activities, but now a days is being renovated as a park with lush green grass , benches and a tiled pathway all along the boundaries for morning walkers and for all. Great place !!
