The story behind Akbar’s Tomb is different from that of The Taj Mahal. Shahjahan started Taj Mahal’s construction for his wife Mumtaj so it is the mausoleum of Mumtaz Mahal especially. But the construction of Akbar’s Tomb Agra was commenced by Badshah Akbar himself to keep his sepulture. There are only few Tombs of this type in the world with such a great story behind the purpose of their construction.

Not much to see other than the Khabar of Akbar. At day time its too hot from the sun. Mughal architecture is one thing to see for. The peopel doing various duty there right from sweepers and securities might trick you for money

Must visit place in Agra, often missed by many visitors. It's a huge monument with large gardens all around with dense trees and wildlife like peacocks, deers, antelopes, monkeys etc. It's a Mughal era cemetery envisioned by Akbar but was never utilised to its fullest. It's just has 5-6 tombs including tomb of Akbar itself at the center. It's very beautiful and nicely designed with elements from all religions incorporated in the building and it's facade.
