This place has been there in the city of Hyderabad ever since, before I was even born. This place made us feel secure to stay in and around of its limits, as lot of police battalions, their trainings, etc related to the state police department was in action, ever since I knew. This place is named as police lines because of the linear arrangements of the lanes and buildings belonging to the state police department.
Because earlier when we were too young, there was no layout of lanes and roads in the surrounding areas of amberpet.
Hence it's linear, defined, precise layouts and geometrically defined infrastructure; And as it belonged to State police department... made it to be popularly call it as "Amberpet Police Lines".
There are also police residential quarters in this area for the working police men of the department.
Hence people really feel secure and safe to reside by near the Amberpet Police Lines.
There is lot of greenery in and around this place. They maintain the area neat and clean in and around.
Lot of residents near this area also admire the police department for being civilian friendly and giving a way through for Life to happen.
There are huge areas with 3 grounds at this place.
The famous Amberpet MCH ground is also located near to these Amberpet Police Lines.
There is also a police school for boys, which ones name I do not remember precisely, in this police lines area.
Though a lot of infrastructural changes happened in the course of time; like during whole of Andhra Pradesh and after its bifurcation, and becoming telangana state... The police department has been efficiently maintaining the greenery and cleanliness of this area. I really admire police department for their efforts to protect environment and for being eco-friendly.

It is the place where you find more traffic and it is said to be the place of residence where many police department will have their residencies
