Varuna is the King of appreciation and enjoyment. He governs the whole world. He is the God of rain and God of all the waters in the three worlds. He surveys the deeds of man according to his karma and keeps them under his control. Placating Varuna is believed to wash away accumulated sins.

We visited as part of Giri pradhakshana. Its pleasant and good. Hope they create separate barikats for people doing giri pradhakshana. Though they have medical, water and rest rooms at every 1 km or so.

The temple is very peaceful. Though in TiruAnnamalai preparation is going on for Khumba Abshikem. All the temples are being upgraded. Other than full moon night not many people are around.
This signifies west direction. To appease Shani maharaj one should pray here.
