If Raman scattering is why the sea is blue, in pazhaverkadu it's a Raman explosion. The sea is exactly that color... not emerald, not turquoise, nor your swimmjng pool tile blue.....not blue daba dee daba die.....just plain simple sea blue. The awesomeness of the sea here cannot be described in words and needs personal experience.
There's a good stretch of sand and a few graves on one end of the beach. Rest of it is quite empty of almost everything - shops, crowd, stray plants and even excessive litter- except for a few electric poles and a few asbestos sheets shacks that people I believe use for changing after a swim .
The sea was quite calm when we went. Not sure if it was the time of that's the nature always. Theres a standard police notice in a wall informing about the number of deaths that have happened in the sea in the past few years indicating that the sea could get quite rough. Light waves come and caress your feet and leave.
At the entrance of the beach is a lighthouse that's been painted afresh and spruced up. Unlike the standard red and white this is painted red and grey. There are a few small shops selling tea and light snacks.
