It is rare to see two sivan temples on either side of the river facing together. AGNEESWARAR temple is located on the north bank of Thamiraparani river facing west and on the southern bank AZIYAPATHIESWARAR temple faces east. The architectural works of this stone temple is wonderful. Best place to you for worship and two temples in one visit.

Ancient temple having mesha nandhi. Very powerful presence of the lord. legend says this lord had reduced everything before him to carbon. Hence the word Karu in all the places before him. Like karupputhurai etc.
