The railway station is very beautiful and tourist friendly. The availability of trains is very limited and the working hours is also fixed, beyond which the staff is not available even for inquiry. Generally there is a huge crowd for bookings general tickets. For the summers the Railways have started a special service of Toy Train ride to and from Ketti. The price is quite high (430 per person) but the ride is enjoyable. The restaurant in the station is simply bad. They don't have most of the items mentioned in the menu and the staff is non cooperative.

Railway station in Ooty to catch Toy train to Coonoor. It's small railway station but good. Parking charges are too high, it's ₹80/-.

Udagamandalam, popularly known as Ooty is a most visited tourist destination in South India. The cool atmosphere here is the major attractions. Surrounded by hills and greenish valley, there are tea plantations, lakes and zoological gardens and much more natural attractions that makes Ooty, the princes of south India.
