Those days (50 years before), the family who visits this temple should inform temple in charge in advance so we can reach, stay till evening. Carry the Kattu Satham and important food items, still I remember. The conveyance mainly has been the Kuthirai Vandi and my father hires two to three for all and items. Very narrow road and the temple located far from Salem main road, still those days revolve in my mind.

A great holy place. Your problems will vanish like magic so that it's called Mayam Pillayar. Real name is Mayam Perumal. Both Lord Shiva (Mayan) and Lord Vishnu (Perumal) are blessing us. People from various part of the state are visiting here. The people with more problem can visit this place and feel the power.
