“Thangam Sweet Stall” in Madurai was established by my Grandfather Thiru.Anthony Samy Nadar Avargal in 1951. He came from a small village near Kovilpatti, from the southern most part of Tamilnadu. My grandfather came to Madurai with single digit money in his hands. He used to do multiple jobs to take care of the family and slept in streets. Because of his dedicated hardwork he started this sweetstall. My grandfather was very much concerned about the tastes and so all the Podi , wheat flour , rice flour and everything needed for the sweets were prepared by my Grandmother Mrs.Pushpammal at home. She stands like a pillar with my thatha. Sweets made here with utmost care and love tastes awesome ❤️❤️. Today the legacy was taken over by my Uncle and still the taste doesn’t even changed a bit. He has introduced a lot of sweets needed for this time like Navathaniyam cake. Sweets are finger licking good and tastes heavenly. Pakoda is my all time favorite here.

The shop is open all days from Morning to Night 1030. Visit early in the evening for the tasty pakoras. Normally it will sold out in an hour.
