Once a popular theatre in Karaikudi. It projected many new movie releases of 80's-90's. Theatre was not maintained nor upgraded to new standards. Later raise of morden theatres, saw it's demise. There was a talk to convert this theatre into a marriage hall. Gradually this theatre saw it's end of days and in now closed for years now.

One of the oldest theatres in the Asia (could be).. I have watched so many movies in this theatre in my childhood... It is very sad to know that this theatre is closed permanently... I would be elited if they renovate and reopen this theatre. Karaikudi is a small town surrounded by so many villages but it has only 3 modern era theatres and one more oldest theatre of the town. So definitely I would love and long to see the refurbished Ramvilas Theatre... I dont know, even I might not come and watch a movie in this theatre in my future.. but the place which I have been to and I enjoyed in my childhood should not go even without any traces of its existence in past.????????????
