Built in the 70s, Valluvar Kottam is a memorial tribute to saint and poet Thiruvalluvar. And is also built meant to be a cultural centre as well. There is an exhibit hall inside called Kural Manimandapam and is used for handicrafts, books exhibit and sale. For exact details of exhibit and schedule one should check local listings as they may vary from time to time.

Memorial has a well maintained park with some flowering plants. The primary monument is the iconic chariot temple made of granite stones featuring the saint effigy inside. Temple chariot is built portraying south Indian architecture and resembles Thiruvarur chariot.

This place is well connected by public transport and parking is limited so prefer public transport. The entry fee is 10 for adults and free for kids. Worth a visit if you are in the neighbourhood or nearby. It will be a pause from city hustle to spend an hour relaxing in a calm and serene park with your family or friends (it will be less crowded on weekdays) Or plan for exhibit days to shop on. Note - Dogs or pets are not allowed inside. The park has lawns and a good green canopy but doesn't have children's play areas.

Most beautifully investment in rememberance of Sri Thiruvalluvar.But maintainence is really bad I could able to see so many dried leaves and bushes grown like plants growing in a barren laand only few things are great.Nice place to have a fresh air in this concrete jungle.

A grand chariot with giant wheels made of stone. The structure is magnificent and beautiful. The stone work is nice and detailed.
It is not well maintained though, needs more efforts in keeping the place clean.
