Thirumayilai MRTS Railway Station is an important suburban railway station on the Chennai Beach-Velachery section of Southern Railway in South Chennai. It is the station from where you can access Arulmigu Kapaleeswarar Temple, Sri Ramakrishna Mutt and some of the Mylapore based sabhas which organize carnatic concerts and events namely Arkay Convention Center, Raga Sudha Hall, Rasika Ranjani Sabha and Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan. Thirumayilai railway station has two entry/exit points one located at the Chennai Beach end and another located at the Velachery end. The station premises also houses the office of Rail Vikas Nigam Limited which can be accessed from the Velachery exit end. The exit at the Velachery end leads you to Venkatesa Agraharam road which can be used to access Ramakrishna Mutt, Raga Sudha Hall, Mylapore fruits and Vegetables market, Sri Kapaleeswarar Temple and other places located on South Mada Street. The exit at the Chennai Beach end opens out on Ramakrishna Mutt road /Royapettah High road from where you can access Arkay Convention Center and other places located on North Mada Street. One can also get auto rickshaws on the Chennai Beach end exit of Thirumayilai station.

A legendary village with the famed Kapali temple & it's surrounds.
Must visit place in chennai. The shivam here is a lingam form & the temple complex is very nice in typical pallava-chola style. Being India, vehicle parking & peaceful darisanam will be rare
