Aadi mottaiyamman temple is very famous for the Ther thiruvizha happens during the month of April, before Chitrapournami. Nearby area ppl will participate and pull the ther, some devoties for there praying will break coconut in roads. This will held on the same day of pournami and ther will come to streets at 1am midnight only. Next day of purnami morning and afternoon will have annadhanam in most streets. Sambar rice,curd , birinji, some time chicken briyani. For people belong to Chennai these festivals they can experience the village in Chennai.

Mottaiamman is a girl, who lived in this locality long ago.It is believed that she is a strong disciple of the Amman and turned out to be worshiped as Goddess by everyone. Her original identity is a small girl, as you can see in the grabhagraham of the temple.
